Stunning Spanish Resort - Mallorca
The Blau Porto Petro - Contemporary waterside hotel and conference facilities
Having just completed a site inspection at the Blau Porto Petro Resort and Spa in Mallorca, I was pleasantly surprised at just how great the location and facilities are in this hotel.
The Resort is located on the eastern coast of Mallorca, near to the pretty fishing village and marina of Portopetro, and is a 40 minute picturesque transfer by taxi from Palma airport.
Formerly a Club Med property, this new resort has been transformed into a fashionable, contemporary hotel and is positioned in an attractive enclave on the island, next to the port and the Mondragó Nature Reserve. The hotel offers 319 newly renovated bedrooms, suites and villas, which are spread out along the coastline, surrounded by pine forests and two crystal clear private beaches.
The Blau Porto Petro stands out from other beachside business hotels, as it offers more than 900m of private coast line, which can be seen from all over the hotel, as well as from the glass-sided Conference Centre, which overlooks the harbour.
The resorts in-house conference centre is located next door to the main hotel area, and offers versatile event space for groups ranging from 15 – 500. The Auditorium Porto Petro is immaculately kept, and features a large stage, tiered seating and spacious leather seats with pull out writing desks.
The Mondrago I, II and III also offers flexible space for 360 pax classroom style and has generous ceiling height, as well as modern built in AV features such as automatic screens and integrated projection equipment.
Mallorca has not had the best reputation over the years, largely due to British holiday makers swarming to areas like Magaluf and Palma, however the east side of the island is totally different. This is a luxury business hotel and offers none of the ‘package’ feel environments on the other side of the island.
The hotel also offers very attractive day delegate rates and works mainly with groups, there is no association with tour operators, so your conference will not be set amidst lots of holiday makers. Altogether, a perfect destination for meetings and smaller conferences.
